Are you energized by creating value from a world-class technology and IP portfolio? Do you excel at spotting how Bosch's capabilities can open doors to new markets and shape the future of entire industries?
As Head of Technology Transfer you will lay the foundation of Bosch's venture-building activities. You translate strategic investment theses - each defining a promising market in which Bosch aims to lead in the future - into concrete venture opportunities by identifying and mobilizing existing Bosch assets such as technologies, proprietary IP, prototypes, and industrial capabilities.
Your focus is on making these assets venture-ready, so that new ventures – built in partnership with external venture studios and other partners - can start from a strong technological foundation. You build a team of transfer managers and scouts and ensure a steady pipeline of high-potential assets into Bosch’s venture-building activities.
Your Responsibilities:
You identify, evaluate, and prioritize Bosch technologies and IP with high venture potential in line with strategic investment theses.
You build and maintain a structured overview of relevant opportunities and assets across patents, prototypes, know-how, and industrial capabilities.
You ensure technologies are mature, transferable, and clearly positioned as competitive advantages for new ventures.
You establish clear processes for preparing, packaging, and transferring assets, including documentation, licensing, and ownership clarity – enabling frictionless adoption.
You collaborate closely with Corporate Research, IP management, and business units to align technology strategy and venture needs.
You lead and develop a team of transfer managers and scouts, fostering a strong asset-driven venture mindset.
You represent Bosch Business Innovations in technology, IP, and venture ecosystems and integrate best practices in asset-based venture building.
Extensive experience in technology and IP strategy, innovation management, venture building, or related environments, preferably in deep-tech and/or hardware.
Demonstrated ability to connect market opportunities (investment theses) with existing technology and IP portfolios.
Hands-on experience in transfer and adoption of complex technologies in new venture environments or spinoffs.
Broad technological understanding with the ability to quickly assess and position deep-tech assets strategically.
Business acumen to envision exceptional ventures, together with investment managers and venture studios.
Confident communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and navigate a decentralized organization.
Bosch-internal candidates only: a strong network within the tech & engineering community at Bosch, especially Corporate Research, is a plus.
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, Biotechnology, or related fields.
Business fluency in English and German.
The role is based in Stuttgart area, Germany. Regular national and international business travel is required.

“I don't pay good wages because I have a lot of money, I have a lot of money because I pay good wages.” - Robert Bosch, 1931. We still live by this principle at Bosch today: in addition to attractive salaries, we offer many additional financial benefits, such as bonuses for the joint contribution to the company's success, individual performance-related pay and private and company pension schemes. In addition to benefit portals with discounts in numerous online stores and services, our associates naturally also get special conditions on Bosch products.

Whether it's new professional goals, personal development, or more time for family, friends, and hobbies – priorities can vary from person to person and change throughout a lifetime. That's why we offer flexible working models, including job sharing, flexible shift patterns, part-time options, and sabbaticals. These models make it possible to balance personal needs as well as team’s requirements and work tasks.
The well-being of our employees is important to us. That's why we offer various health-promoting initiatives and measures. We provide many preventative services related to physical and mental health. There are numerous self-organized clubs and groups where hobbies and interests can be pursued together with colleagues. To strengthen the community, we offer various networks on a wide range of topics – from family to diversity. Here, our associates engage with and support one another.
We ensure that our associates can commute to work comfortably. This may mean making their daily commute easier with a Bosch shuttle or company bike offer. If they want to work from abroad for a short period, we are happy to check the feasibility. Before and during longer stays abroad, we support our associates and their families with all-round support: from onboarding and accompanying mentoring to language courses and a well-planned return.
